Prepared for Peter · Window Cleaner Elgin
A better website for customers — and a clearer one for Google and AI.
I’ve put this page together to show you what I’d change, why it matters, and four different directions the new website could take.
The aim is simple: make it easier for someone to understand what you do, see your work and get in touch — particularly when they’re looking on their phone.
Why I’d change the current site
Your current website does the basic job of getting Window Cleaner Elgin online, but some useful information is harder to find than it needs to be.
It’s also fairly slow on a phone, and some of the information stored behind the pages doesn’t match the actual business. For example, the address isn’t fully stated and the opening hours held in the website data don’t reflect your actual 07:00–17:00 hours.
There are also some straightforward questions a potential customer is likely to have before getting in touch. How often should their windows be cleaned? Can you reach higher windows? Do you clear gutters?
Those answers should be easy to find.
Making them clear helps customers, but it also gives Google and newer AI search tools a much better understanding of the business.
So rather than simply giving the existing site a new look, I’d use the opportunity to improve the structure and information behind it as well.
SEO and AI visibility — in plain English
SEO is search engine optimisation.
Put simply, SEO is about making it as easy as possible for Google to understand what your business does and where you do it.
For a local business, that starts with the basics: a fast website that works properly on a phone, consistent contact details and opening hours, sensible page titles, useful descriptions and clear answers to the questions customers actually ask.
It doesn’t guarantee a particular position on Google — nobody can honestly promise that.
What it does is give Google clearer, more useful information about Window Cleaner Elgin and the services you provide.
AIO is AI optimisation.
People are also starting to search differently.
Instead of always scrolling through a list of websites, someone might ask ChatGPT, Google’s AI features or another assistant something like, “Who cleans shop windows in Elgin?” or “Can I get someone to clear my gutters locally?”
These systems gather information from websites and other online sources to build an answer.
The clearer and more consistent the information about your business is, the easier it is for those systems to understand what you do and describe it accurately.
In practice, that means clearly stating things such as your business name, location, services, opening hours and contact details, then structuring that information properly behind the scenes.
The plan
Whichever design you prefer, the important work underneath it stays the same.
The four examples below are different visual directions for the same business. They’re there to help you choose the look and feel you like before I finish the site around it.
- 1
Choose the design you likeOpen each of the four options below and have a look at them properly.
Try them on your phone as well as a computer if you can. You don’t need to think about the technical side — just tell me which one feels most like the direction you want to go in.
- 2
Build it around the real businessOnce you’ve chosen a design, I’ll build it around the actual details of Window Cleaner Elgin.
That includes Peter, 07447 908685, clean151north@gmail.com and 23 Lossie Cottages, Elgin, IV30 4AW, along with the services you actually offer.
No made-up prices, coverage areas or marketing claims.
- 3
Build the SEO in from the startRather than finishing the website and thinking about Google afterwards, I’ll put the important SEO basics into it as it’s built.
That includes the correct business details and opening hours, proper page titles and descriptions, useful information around your services, image descriptions and answers to common customer questions.
- 4
Make the same information clear to AI toolsAt the same time, I’ll structure the important business information so that search engines and AI tools can identify it more easily.
The idea is simply to make the website clear and consistent — for a customer reading it, for Google indexing it, and for an AI system trying to understand what Window Cleaner Elgin does.
Once that’s done, the finished version will be ready to replace the current windowcleanerelgin.co.uk site.
Have a look through the four designs
These are four different visual directions rather than four different versions of the business.
Select Open on any design to see it on its own page at full size. Have a look through all four, ideally on your phone as well.
Once you know which direction you prefer, just send me the number: 01, 02, 03 or 04.
